IAFC announces former Calif. fire chief, PulsePoint founder as the recipient of James O. Page Award

MCLEAN, Va. 鈥 The , in partnership with ZOLL Medical Corporation, annually presents the to a distinguished leader in fire-service-based EMS who has made significant non-clinical contributions on a national level.

This year鈥檚 honoree is Chief Richard Price, a 33-year fire service veteran and former Fire Chief of the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District. Price is the founder of PulsePoint, a mobile app that alerts nearby citizens to cardiac arrests and other critical medical emergencies, enabling them to begin lifesaving care before EMS arrives.

Since its inception in 1995, when James O. Page was named the first honoree, the annual James O. Page Award has celebrated outstanding leadership in fire-based EMS. Chief Richard Price will be recognized as the 30th recipient of this prestigious award during a special ceremony at the 2025 , held May 5鈥7 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
