MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman stole one ambulance at Regional One, causing significant damage in two crashes outside of a hospital on July 9.
While a Crittenden EMS crew was inside Regional One, a patient reportedly left the hospital and stole a Memphis Fire Department ambulance from the bay, reported.
The patient reversed and hit a large concrete block wall. She then drove towards a wall outside the trauma ICU area.
She reportedly swerved to avoid an armed security guard and a brick wall, then struck a Crittenden ambulance on the driver’s side.
The woman then fled in the ambulance and was apprehended a short time later in the VA parking lot.
